Frequently Asked Questions
What is a variable in Flowkon?
A variable is a placeholder you create once, written as {{variable_key}}, such as {{first_name}} or {{pain_point}}. Flowkon replaces it with the value assigned to each prospect whenever a message goes out.
Do I need to create the same variable for every campaign?
No. Once you create a variable in Settings, it's available across every template, campaign, and channel in your workspace. You set it up once and reuse it going forward.
Can I use variables in LinkedIn connection requests?
Yes. Variables work inside connection requests and follow-up messages, so every step in your LinkedIn sequence stays personalized from the first touch onward.
Can I add my own custom variables, or only the standard ones?
Both. Flowkon includes standard system variables like First Name, Company Name, and Job Title. You can also create your own custom variables, such as Pain Point or Tech Stack, for details the standard fields don't cover.
Do variables work in email as well as LinkedIn?
Yes. The same variable can be used in email templates and LinkedIn messages, so your personalization stays consistent no matter which channel a prospect responds on.
What happens if a prospect is missing a value for a variable?
You can set a fallback value when you create the variable, or write one directly inside the template using {{field|fallback text}}. If no prospect-specific value exists, the fallback text shows instead of a blank space.
What happens if I edit a variable after adding it to a template?
Any update you make to the variable applies wherever it's already in use, so you don't need to go back and edit every template by hand.
